General Operative/ Construction – Relocate to Germany
Job Purpose
The General Operative will support site teams in the safe and efficient delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects. The role involves assisting skilled tradespeople, site engineers, and supervisors with daily construction activities while maintaining high standards of health, safety, and productivity. Source Civil operates across water, wastewater, infrastructure, data centre, power, and specialist civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with general site labouring duties.
- Support groundworks, drainage, ducting, and concrete works.
- Load, unload, and move construction materials and equipment.
- Maintain clean and safe working areas.
- Assist machine operators and skilled trades personnel.
- Follow site safety procedures and company policies.
- Use hand tools and basic construction equipment safely.
- Assist with traffic management and site setup where required.
- Carry out manual handling tasks as part of daily operations.
- Support project teams in meeting programme deadlines.
Requirements
- Previous experience in construction, civil engineering, utilities, or general labouring preferred.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Physically fit and capable of manual labour.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Full driving licence desirable but not essential.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Experience with concrete, drainage, utilities, or groundworks.
